Hazel Hurt

Hazel O'Neil Parker Hurt, 81 years of age, passed peacefully from this life the morning of March 24, 2014 after a gradual decline in health. She was supported by her loving family and caregivers at Trinity Place of Albemarle during the last days of her life.

Hazel was born in Davidson County, NC in 1932 to the late Lawrence Eugene Parker and the late Georgia Evelyn Cooper Parker. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald, Bob, and Gerald Parker; and sister, Colleen Parker-Sides.

Married in 1950, she moved to Norwood, NC. She divorced in 1957 and then settled in Albemarle, NC. Hazel retired from Wiscasset Mills after 23 years of service.

Hazel is survived by her only child, Donna Armstrong Eudy, and her spouse Johnny Eudy; sister, Janice Jones; three grandchildren, Melody Miller Adams and spouse Daniel, Leslie Miller Taylor and spouse Tom, and Melissa Armstrong; great grandchildren, Mason, Ella Grace and Jane Adams, Miles Taylor; two step-grandchildren, Candace Jackson and spouse Jack, Kevin Eudy and spouse Heather; and three step-great grandchildren, Saphira and Jade Jackson and Braylon Eudy.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Friday, March 28, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Delane Burris and Rev. John Eudy officiating. The burial will be at Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle.
