Hazel Morton

Hazel Morton, 84 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the home of her daughter Gilda Yow. Hazel was born May 14, 1929 in Stanly County to the late Claude Washington Furr and the late Eva Bellzora Furr. She was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Morton, husband, Hubert Morton, and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm, Friday, November 29, 2013 at Philadelphia Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow Friday at 3:30 pm in the church sanctuary and will be officiated by Rev. Dwight Mabry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include daughter, Gilda Yow of Stanfield, NC, daughter, Barbara (Gene) Yow of Stanfield, son, Richard (Delaine) Morton of Stanfield, son, Hubert (Lisa) Morton of Oakboro, son, Rodney Morton of Stanfield, daughter-in-law, Ann Morton of Albemarle, and sister, Coral (Charlie) Yow of Stanfield. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church, PO Box 280, Stanfield NC, 28163.
