Biography Hazel Elizabeth Yow Smith, 84 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
Mrs. Smith was born June 28, 1930 in Stanly County to the late Daniel Monroe Yow and the late Eliza Jane Yow. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Love's Grove United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm in the church sanctuary officiated by Rev. Jim White and Rev. Jim Allred. Burial will follow at the Love's Grove United Methodist Cemetery at 4630 Polk Ford Road, Stanfield.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Leroy Alexander Smith of the home; son, Tim Smith of Stanfield; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Marilyn Smith and Tina Goss; brothers, Ray and Clayton Yow; sister, Sadie Furr; great-grandchildren, Trevor Goss, Owen Love, Angelina, Gracyn and Nevaeh Smith.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a friend to all.
