Hazeline Herrin

Hazeline Poplin Herrin, 89 years of age, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Charlotte Square in Charlotte.

Mrs. Herrin was born July 24, 1927 to the late Rufus and Eliza Whitley Poplin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rayvon Herrin and was the last surviving child of Rufus and Eliza Poplin. An avid reader, Hazeline's daily routine included reading The Stanly News and Press, The Charlotte Observer, The New York Times, among many other periodicals. She was a member of Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church and loved attending when she was able.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Elder Branan Hooven. Burial will follow in the Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 22182 Canton Rd., Albemarle.

Survivors include: daughters, Judy Dick Goldberg of Charlotte, Brenda Herrin Smith of Locust; son, Dean and wife Dena Herrin of Charlotte; grandchildren, Natalie Chepul, Harland Dick, Leigh Anne Veazey, Julie Smith, Collin Herrin, Logan Herrin; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
