Heath Lee Hahn, 95, of Oakboro, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, at his home.
Mr. Hahn was born on March 18, 1927, to the late Frelon Hahn and Bessie Connell Hahn. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Earl Hahn.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home, 522 N, 2nd Street, Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at Red Cross Baptist Church, 112 W. Red Cross Road, Oakboro, officiated by Rev. Jesse Herring, Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace, and friend Leonard Harvell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Heath served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His occupation included 25 years with Union Power and worked with Flame Refractories until his retirement.
His hobbies included restoration of antique Ford Model T’s. His passion was singing gospel music for over 50 years and was founder of the Singing Towers and traveled in multiple states sharing the gospel message. Mr. Hahn was a charter member of Red Cross Baptist Church for 78 years and served in numerous roles of leadership.
Survivors include his wife of 76 years, Mary Kathleen Whitley Hahn; daughter, Judy Tucker and husband, Roger; son, Lionel Hahn and wife, Tamra; son, David Hahn and wife, Karen; 6 grandchildren, Terry Tucker (Marley), Mark Tucker (Monica), Leslie Wade (Chris), Andrea Lowder (Brandy), Dillon Hahn (Samantha) and Kara Hatley (Tim); 17 great grandchildren, Courtney, Taryn, Trevor, Cameron, Caroline, Kaitlyn, Ashelyn, Madelyn, Samuel, Jordan, Lola, Channing, Waylon, Ruby, Ashton, Axel, and Kadence.
Our appreciation to dad’s caregivers: Cindy, Judy, Ann, Dawn, Patty, Rachel, Sharon, and Hospice nurses for their love and dedication.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County and the Uwharrie and Red Cross Baptist Church.
