Helen Andrews

Helen Maria Strickland Andrews, a beloved Mother & friend, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 of natural causes at her home in Concord.

Helen was born January 1, 1941 in Georgia, along with her 6 siblings.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Reba Thomas Strickland; father, Edward Strickland; sisters, Carolyn Otto & Edna McClintock;  brothers, Owen Strickland and John Strickland.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Pitts Baptist Church-Concord. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Pitts Baptist Church-Concord in Concord officiated by Rev. Kevin Seger. Burial will follow at the Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamptonville, North Carolina.

Survivors include daughter, Rhonda Wall of Concord, NC; daughter, Katherine Farmer (Eric)of Warrensville, NC; as well as her son, Darrell Wall (Leila Compe) of Mineral, VA; 3 grandchildren;  Stephanie Dickerson (Chris) of Fayetteville; Matthew Propst of Concord; Diana Propst of Charlotte;  5 great grandchildren;  sister, Francis Barber and brother, Elmer Strickland, both of Savannah, GA.

Helen earned a degree in Secretarial Science from Wilkes Community College. She retired from the accounting department at Belk’s Store in Savannah and as a Cashier at Wal-Mart in Concord. She was an active member of Pitts Baptist Church where she enjoyed the bible study and fellowship of the Ladies Sunday School Class, and crocheting for the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
