Helen Burleson

Helen “Karen” Edwards Burleson, 51, of Albemarle, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. The memorial service will be held at Stanly County Shriners Club, 35781 City Lake Dr. Albemarle NC 28001 on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. At other times, the family will meet at her brothers home, Jerry Edwards 1107 Efird St. Albemarle NC 28001. Karen was born on January 16, 1961, to the late James King Edwards and the late Betty Jo Dunkle. She is also preceded in death by a twin brother James Haynes “Buck” Edwards. She is survived by her loving husband of six years, William “Terry” Burleson of the home; son, Josh Sides and wife Lisa of Albemarle; step- daughter, Rianne Burleson of Badin; two brothers, Charlie Brown and wife Gail of Michigan and Jerry Edwards and wife Pam of Albemarle; a sister, Lisa Faye Rodgers and husband Ozzie of Arkansas; one sister in law, Cathy Edwards of Albemarle; four grandchildren, Keely Sides, Emma Sides, Taylor Thompson and Kendall Chandler; special friends, Donna Ragsdale of Albemarle, Gary Poplin and wife Beverly of Albemarle and Jo Biggers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Manager of Hal’s Restaurant for 12 years, Karen loved her customers dearly. Memorials may be made to Hartsell Funeral Home, PO Box 7, Albemarle NC 28002.
