Helen Chandler

Helen Jones Starr Chandler, 81 years of age, wife of Larry Gene Chandler, of 103 Chandler Place, Seneca, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at her home .

The daughter of the late Robert Lee and the late Pearl Elizabeth Starr, in addition to her parents, Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by one brother, and five sisters.

Mrs. Chandler was born in Greensboro, NC, and grew up in Albemarle, NC. She was a member of Seneca Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, loved yellow roses, and working with the mentally handicapped. She loved her grand babies and her "furr babies."

A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm. A Graveide service will follow at 5:00 pm at Fairview Memorial Park, 1425 East Main Street, Albemarle, officiated by Rev. Phillip Martin.

In addition to her husband of sixty years, Mrs. Chandler is survived by her daughters, Renee (Milas) Kelley, and Gina (Kirk) Chandler; sister, Jo (Junior) Hatley; two grandchildren, Taylor Kelley, and Bethany (Jimmy) Ashton; and two great-grandchildren, Brennah Ashton and Jay Ashton.
