Helen Lowder Corriher passed away in her home in Conover, NC on Sunday morning, July 29, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde C. and Sallie Belle Roberts Cheek, as well as her son, Paul V. Lowder. She was also preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, Vernon S. Lowder and her second husband of 18 years, Crawford H. Corriher. She was a gentle spirit and a lady of grace. The joy of her life was her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She is survived by her two daughters, June Lowder Hartsell and husband, Craig, and Nancy Lowder Hartsell and husband, Lance, as well as extended family and friends. She had eight grandchildren: April L. Greenhill, Ramsey Lovin and wife, LouAnn, Mary Elizabeth Lovin, Michele Bierswagon, Christopher Lowder, Melissa Andringa, Andrew Hartsell and wife, Amy, and Joshua Hartsell. She had nine great-grandchildren; Nathan and Jacob Lovin, Will Greenhill, Luke and Avery Hartsell, and Chris, Nicholas, Alecia, and Sibon Paul Andringa. She loved playing hymns in church, as well as teaching youth Bible studies. Her many activities included reading, gardening and art. She traveled extensively in Europe and the U.S. She supported the Billy Graham Association, Samaritan’s Purse, and the Navigators faithfully. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Steve Pennington, will follow in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the family.
