Helen Hartsell

Helen Ruth Hartsell, 91, of New London, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Trinity Place in Albemarle. Mrs. Hartsell was born December 16, 1921 to the late James Hampton Morton Sr. and the late Sarah Jane Lowder Morton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Alexander Hartsell, brothers, James Morton and Vance Morton, sisters, Esther Davis, Zola Tarlton and Florence Hathcock. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Mill Grove United Methodist Church, Midland, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the church santuary. Rev. Arvil Rushing and Dr. Bob Sturge will officiate and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Kelly and her husband, Bobby of Catawba and Andrea Morgan and her husband, Bobby of New London, NC, grandson, Alex C Francis of Charlotte, NC, granddaughters, Kelley M. Whitley of Oakboro, NC and Morgan Kelly, great grandchildren, Blythe Whitley, Braxton Whitley. She loved to sew, bake and cook and enjoyed having family, especially the great grandchildren visits.
