Helen Huneycutt

Helen Eudy Huneycutt, 97 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at Stanly Manor of Albemarle.
"Granny Helen" was born at home in Stanly County on February 24, 1917 to the late Freeland Macon Eudy and the late Bertha Mae Morgan Eudy. She was married to Vernon Joe Huneycutt who preceded her in death on April 6, 1962. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Craig Harding Eudy.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 3:00 pm and will be officiated by Dr. Wayne Bennett and Rev. Adam Hatley. Burial will be at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro, NC.
Granny Helen was a lifetime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She retired in 1987 after 32 years at Wiscasset Mills where she worked as a winder operator. She loved gardening, sewing, reading, and cooking Sunday lunch for her family.
Helen was survived by three children, Joe E. Huneycutt (Betty), Bobby C. Huneycutt (Nancy) and Yugonda Underwood (Dennis); seven grandchildren: Donnie Huneycutt (Delinda), Chris Huneycutt, Lisa Smith (Jody), Chuck Underwood (Tonya), Chad Underwood (Becky), Chay Underwood (Jamie), and Chera Maske (John); ten great grandchildren: Wesley Huneycutt (Kayla), Halee Huneycutt, Jonathan Hinson, Brett Hinson, Jessie Underwood, Colton Underwood, Nathan Underwood, Cameron Underwood, Lauren Maske and Mason Maske; a step great grandson, Jared Smith; and a great-great grandson, Eli Smith.
