Helen Kirby

Helen Ruth Doby Kirby, 88, of Albemarle, NC passed away on May 7, 2011 at Lutheran Home of Albemarle. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 10 from 6-8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The service will be held Wednesday, May 11 at 2 PM in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Rev. Diane Wales will officiate the services. Mrs. Kirby was born in Stanly County on July 8, 1922 to the late Charlie and Bertha Doby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Daniel Kirby; and sons, Ronald Richard and Billy Gene Kirby. Mrs. Kirby is survived by her son, James “Fred” Kirby of Albemarle; daughters, Barbara Kirby of Albemarle, Theresa Nance of Locust; brother, Dr. A.K.
