Helen Virginia Boger Wagoner, age 94 of New London, passed away on July 3, 2012 at Spring Arbor of Albemarle. The family will receive friends at Bethany United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Friday, July 6 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Richard C. Clough, Jr. and Rev. Tim Whittington, former pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Wagoner was born in Rowan County on September 10, 1917, to the late William Martin Boger and the late Omer Pauline Cruse Boger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Will Frelon Wagoner on August 23, 1992; a son, Jeffrey B. Wagoner; four brothers, William Boger, Arnold Boger, Hoyle Boger and Gene Boger; her baby sister, Ruby Boger; and one grandson, Ken Furr. She is survived by one daughter, Jeanette Wagoner Furr and her husband Ronald of Stanley; one brother, Jack Boger of Matthews; one sister Mildred B. Barringer of Forest, VA; three grandchildren, Mark Furr and his wife Alice, Brian Furr and his wife Jocelyn and Ronda Furr; four great-grandchildren, Mary Reeves Furr, Virginia Furr, Davis Furr and Joshua Furr. Mrs. Wagoner was a homemaker and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She had a special talent for needlepoint, cross stitch and quilt making. She loved her family, friends and her church family. The family would like to express a special thank you to Spring Arbor and their staff for their kindness and help during their mother’s stay.
