Henrietta Everhart Carpenter, age 69 of 1000 Northbrook Drive, Albemarle, NC, passed away on August 25, 2011 at Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Carpenter was born in Davidson County on December 30, 1941. She was preceded in death by her father Henry Jason Everhart, and mother Nannie Amelia Myers Everhart. Mrs. Carpenter was a teacher for over 35 years in the Stanly County School System, and taught academically gifted children. Through the years she kept in close contact with her former students, continuing to be involved in education by being a mentor through the Stanly Community College Rose Scholarship. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Friday, August 26, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at First Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 27 at 11am, officiated by Pastor John Futterer. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. At other times the family will be meeting at the home. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul Carpenter, Sr., of the home; sons, Paul Carpenter, Jr. of Albemarle, Hank Carpenter and wife Amy of Greensboro; and brother, Douglass Everhart of Lexington.
