Henry Clay, Jr

Henry Franklin Clay Jr., 75 years of age, of Locust, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 15, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Clay was born October 7, 1940 in Concord, NC to the late Henry Franklin Clay Sr. and the late Laura Mae Goodman Clay.
He was also preceded in death by his son Frankie D. Clay; and his brother William J. Clay.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Monday, January 18, 2016 at Freedom Baptist Church in Locust. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm officiated by Rev. Wally Gilmer and Rev. Shane Yarbrough.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley Clay of the home; daughter Sheila V. Smith; his brother Gene Miller of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren Laura, Hannah and Dakota Smith; as well as great grandsons Layton and Liam Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, 20015 Coley Store Road, Locust, NC 28097.
