Henry Moore

Henry B. Jason Moore, Jr., 79, of Ridgecrest, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Autumn Care in Marshville.

Henry was born May 16, 1937 in Moore County to the late Henry B. Jason Moore, Sr. and the late Mollie Richardson Moore. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara Joyce McDaniel Moore, who passed away in 2013; son, Mark Moore; brother, Wilbur Henry Moore; sister, Margaret Overby; and grandson, Travis Moore.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service to celebrate his life, officiated by Pastor Preston Young, will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Sweet Home Baptist Church, 28873 Sweet Home Church Rd., Albemarle. He will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. The burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main St., Albemarle. At other times, the family will be gathering at the home of his son, Buck Moore, 44867 Byrd Rd., Albemarle.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Bowers and husband Rick of Albemarle; sons, William "Buck" Moore and wife Jeanne of Albemarle, Danny Moore of Locust; brother, Paul Moore and wife Dina of Robbins; sisters, Ann Hurley of Greensboro, Ruth Cheek and husband Glenn of Asheboro; brother-in-law, Cecil Overby; sister-in-law, Kay Moore; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Justin, Courtney, Molly (Corey), Luke, Ella Rose, Misty (Steven), Jason, Cameron (McKenzie); granddaughter-in-law, Gloria Moore, wife of Travis; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a strong and devoted work ethic. He worked for Bulrington Industries for over 20 years, Fruit of the Loom for 19 years, and later retired from Tuscarora Yarns Inc. after many years of service. Henry was a faithful member of Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church, and previously served on the Board of Trustees at Ridgecrest Volunteer Fire Department. He had a passion for music, and loved to play and sing at the church as long as his health allowed and in his later years at the nursing homes with Ridgecrest Band. Henry also enjoyed hunting and playing golf.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor Larry Pittman and the Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church and community family for their support and loving care.
