Henry Morris, Jr

Henry Travis “Bud” Morris, Jr., age 85, of Albemarle passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 11 AM on Monday, June 25, 2012 at West Albemarle Baptist Church, 336 Church St. with Rev. Adam Hatley officiating. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory. Bud was born in Stanly County on September 20, 1926 to the late Henry Travis Morris, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Blake Morris. He is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Arlene Marie Haywood Morris; daughter, Judy M. Morris; sisters, Mildred Wilkinson and Ruby Lowder. He is survived by a son, David H. Morris and wife Charlotte of Davidson; daughter, Lisa M. Whitley of Albemarle; brothers, Ben Morris and Roger Morris, both of Albemarle; sister, Mazel Helms of Albemarle; son-in-law, Jerry Morris of Albemarle; grandchildren, Jill Sides, Michael Morris, John David Morris; and step grandchildren, Alex Whitley and Alexa Whitley; great-grandchildren, Matthew Lee Sides and Joshua Conner Sides. Bud formerly operated The Goody Shop Café and was owner and operator of Morris Motors. He was a member of West Albemarle Baptist Church.
