Henry Russell

Henry Mitchell Russell, 82, of Richfield, passed away January 28, 2016 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.

Mr. Russell was born January 3, 1934 in Stanly County to the late Henry Thomas Russell and Lena Russell. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Jewell Poole and Juanita Faggart, brothers, Ray Russell, Jerry Russell, and Myrties Russell, and special cousin Ottie Mae Cot .

Mitch moved to Washington, DC in 1958. He was employed as a brick mason and contractor. After retirement, Mitch returned to Richfield, NC in 2003.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, February 1, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 2:30 PM at New Mt Tabor United Methodist Church, 40237 Millingport Road, Richfield officiated by Rev Leslie Wray. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include wife, Annette Russell of Richfield, special granddaughter, Aaliyah Mae Tipton, nephews, Steve Russell and Jason Russell, nieces, Donna Edenburn, Wanda Rosenberger, and Robin Huneycutt, numerous great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, and his special dog, Stinky.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stanly County Humane Society, 2049 Badin Road, Albemarle, NC 28001.
