Henry Snuggs

Henry Hugh Snuggs, age 89 of 630 N. Sixth Street, Albemarle, NC 28001, Passed away on June 14, 2010 at Britthaven of Piedmont, Albemarle . The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle - at other times the family will be at 630 N. Sixth Street, Albemarle, home of his daughter, Marie Almond. Funeral services will be Thursday, 2 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. Military honors will be conducted by Stanly County DAV, Chapter 12. Born June 13, 1921 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late William Frank Snuggs and the late Hallie Dixon Shankle Snuggs. He was also preceded in death by his wife Emma Napier Russell Snuggs and grandson John Hugh Almond. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church as long as his health permitted. He owned and operated Snuggs Electric. He was a life time member of the Albemarle Optimist Club and VFW. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Henry Snuggs was survived by daughters, Marie Almond of Albemarle and Sue Clark of Barnwell, SC and grandchildren, Cimberlie Clark Elkins, Heather Clark Connelly and Russell Milton Almond and 3 great great grandchildren.
