Herbert Benton

H. O'Brien Benton, 88, of Concord, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord surrounded by family on April 26, 2018.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather. Mr. Benton enjoyed working on Vehicles. He was a mechanic down to his toes. He was very adventurous, inventive and was always working on something.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM- 8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home on Sunday, April 29, 2018. The funeral service will be on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11 AM at Parkwood Baptist Church in Concord , officiated by Pastor Michael Waters. Burial will follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park- Kannapolis.

Survivors include wife of 64 years, Doris Barbee Benton of Concord, NC, daughters, Cynthia (John) Forbis, Crystal Benton-Wise (Perry), son, Danny  O'Brien (Tamera) Benton, and 6 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, and one great- great- grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Levines Children Hospital or Hospice of Kannapolis.
