Herbert Eugen Friedmann

Herbert Eugen Friedmann, 87, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 29, 2024.

Herbert was born January 2, 1937 in southern Germany to the late Ernst Friedmann and the late Elise Eble Friedmann. Herbert was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dieter Gebert. 

Herbert was an avid golfer and loved landscaping and gardening, especially his rose bushes. As a mechanical engineer, he traveled all over the world working with many multinational companies. He loved his German culture, including music and soccer. Herbert adored his family and to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren he became affectionately known as Opi.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Lisel Else Friedmann of Harrisburg; daughter, Daniela (Richard) Beauvais of Harrisburg; son, Andre (Jennifer) Friedmann of Columbia, SC; son, Eric Friedmann of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Gabrielle (John) Moore of Concord, Cameron (Sarah) Beauvais of Concord, and Nathaneal, Elise, and Olivia Friedmann of Columbia, SC; four great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Wyatt Moore and Reese and Jesse Beauvais, all of Concord; and niece, Petra (Joseph) Campbell of Rhode Island.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, officiated by Pastor Joseph Campbell. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Harrisburg, Charlotte.
