Herbert Ward

Herbert Paul Ward, 79, passed away on March 29, 2010 at Universal Healthcare in Concord. Born in Charlotte, NC on March 03, 1931, Herbert Paul Ward was preceded in death by his mother- Ruby Ward, and his father-Hershal Ward, and his first wife- Ruby E. Ward. He retired from Southern Bell after 38 years of service. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church 20063 Meadow Creek Church Road Locust, NC 28097 with the ministers Elder Newell Helms and Elder Eddie Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC. Herbert Paul Ward was survived by his spouse- Virginia Ward of Oakboro NC, his daughters- Paula Ward and husband David Newton of Concord NC, Ruby Ward of Concord NC, his stepson- Curtis Barbee of Oakboro NC, his grandchildren- Ashley and David Newton, step granddaughters Kristin Barbee and Emily Hathcock, and his brothers- Sam Ward of Vass, NC.
