Herman Mccachren

Herman Bernard McCachren, 80, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Mr. McCachren was born August 10, 1939 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Dixon Blair McCachren Jr. and the late Carrie Cline McCachren. He was stricken with infantile Paralysis at a very early age but was later able to attend Harrisburg School.  He was a life time resident of the Harrisburg Community and was a member of the traditional Harrisburg Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed fellowship of friends and neighbors especially remembrances of past events and people.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brother, Dixon Blair McCachren, III and sister-in-law Peggy Cole McCachren.

Herman is survived by his sister, Mary Helen Hartsell and husband Floyd C. Hartsell, a nephew, Norman McCachren and wife Paula, nieces Marie Sigler and husband Chuck and Amy Hill all of Harrisburg, NC, Cathy Eudy and husband, Jeff of Sherrills Ford, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

The Graveside service will be on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 11:30 am at  Harrisburg Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 4815 NC-49 (Corner of Morehead and Hwy 49), Harrisburg,NC.

Memorials may be to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County.
