Herman Mclester
May 12, 1931 — October 17, 2017
Herman Lee McLester, 86 years of age, of Locust, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Mr. McLester was born May 12, 1931 in Stanly County to the late Ira Ephraim McLester and the late Dora Almond McLester. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Cordelia McLester.
Herman loved God and his country and was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Air Force.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM , Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM at St James Reformed Church, 8350 Walnut Street in Mt Pleasant officiated by Rev. Gene Frady. Burial will follow at St Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery, 100 St John's Church Road in Concord.
Survivors include sons, Jeff McLester and wife Kathy of Concord and Steve McLester and friend Brenda Hamrick of Locust; grandchildren, Michael McLester and wife Sue, Melissa Smith and husband David, and Brent McLester and wife Kristen; great grandchildren, Jackson McLester, Colton Smith, Brooklyn Smith, Darian Smith, Mason Sidzina and Taya Sidzina.
Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle is serving the McLester family.
