Hilda Smith

Hilda Huneycutt Thomas Smith, 84 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Carolinas HealthCare System Stanly in Albemarle.

Mrs. Smith was born July 12, 1932 to the late J.H. "Bud" and Etta Huneycutt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Phylus Jerome Thomas, and her son, Edward "Ed" Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 12568 Philadelphia Church Rd., Stanfield. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm officiated by Rev. Dusty Laney. Burial will conclude in the church cemetery.

Survivors include: husband, Elvin Smith; daughter, Pat Scott and husband Ken; step-son, Terry Smith and wife Terry Lynn; step-daughter, Dondee King and husband Rob; grandchildren, Erin Thomas Lusher and husband Bill, Eric Scott, Keith Scott and wife Laura, Chad Smith and wife Shawn, Phillip Smith and wife Natalie, Stacey Laney and husband Dusty, Austin King and wife Megan; as well as, nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Hubert Huneycutt.
