Homer Almond

Homer Ray Almond, 81 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Homer was born August 15, 1932 in Stanly County, to the late Homer Vance Almond and the late Vetra Sasser Almond. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lillian Moyle Almond in 2007 and son, Terry Wayne Almond in 1996. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00PM, Monday, September 16, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. Immediately following the visitation, the funeral service will be held in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Friendship United Methodist Church, 24696 Hwy. 73, Albemarle, NC 28001. He is survived by his daughter, Lorene (Robbie) Tucker; sons, Johnny Ray (Jackie) Almond and David Allen (Laurie) Almond of Albemarle; brother, Julius Almond; sisters, Faye Hatley and Hazel Hagans; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
