Homer Elwood

Homer Boyd Elwood, 66, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Homer (Huck)  was born June 26, 1953 in California to the late James Donald Elwood and Maxine Morris Elwood.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Tommy Elwood.

Homer loved to fish and to be outside.  His love in life was his dog Margarita, she went everywhere with him.  Homer enjoyed traveling with his good friend.
Sadly, Homer lost his battle to cancer.

Survivors include daughter, Tasha Andrews of Concord, NC and her husband Larry; daughter, Marie Greene and her husband Chris of Concord, NC.; brother, Dwight Bodine; sister, Marida Baker and her husband Charles of Little Washington, NC; brother, Jessie Elwood and his wife Linda of Albemarle; sister, Sherryl and her husband , Johnny Hackett of Albemarle, which was his best friend; two grandchildren, Justin Wike and Bryce Swaw. He had numerous nieces and nephews that loved him very much.

In honor of Homer's wishes, there will be no services.  In lieu of flowers please send donations to Hospice of Stanly Uwharrie, 960 North 1st Albemarle NC, in which the family would like to offer a special thank you too for all of the care that was given to him.
