Houston Baker

Houston "Pooh" Clifford Baker, 63 years of age, formerly of Cadillac St., Kannapolis, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Brian Center in Salisbury.

Pooh was born April 30, 1953 in Cabarrus County to the late Lester Leroy Baker and the late Dorothy Mae Witherspoon Baker.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Russell McWhorter and Rev. Richard Collins. The burial will be at Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery, 3606 Drake Road, Midland.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Faye Harvell Baker of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Mark Wayne Baker and Dale Leroy Baker all of Kannapolis.

Houston graduated from A.L. Brown High School in 1971. He was employed for more than 32 years at Cannon Mills in Kannapolis where he enjoyed talking to the truck drivers from all over the world. He also loved fishing and deer hunting.
