Hoyle Huneycutt

Hoyle Adam Huneycutt, 80, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Carolinas HealthCare System Union in Monroe.

Hoyle was born February 20, 1937 in Stanly County to the late Grady Lee Huneycutt and the late Myrtle Priscilla Smith Huneycutt. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Jahalla "Jay" Kizer, Arlene Medlin; and brothers, Harold, Doyle, and Roy Huneycutt.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Antioch Baptist Church, 6223 Love Mill Rd., Monroe, officiated by Pastor Buck Canup and Pastor Clint Lewey. He will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. The burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave., Monroe. At other times, the family will be gathering at the home.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Mabel Josephine Huneycutt of the home; son, Timothy Adam (Angel) Huneycutt of Norwood; daughters, Carolyn (Clarence) Beach of Albemarle, Hazel (Scott) Honeycutt of Monroe, Vickie (Tim) Medlin of Monroe; sister, Beatrice Bullard of Albemarle; grandchildren, James and Joseph Honeycutt, Randal Medlin, Stacy Thomas, Josh Beach; great-grandchildren, Adam, Abigail, Kenslie, Brayden, and Maxton Honeycutt, Rylan and Lawson Thomas.

He loved his beloved beagles and listening to bluegrass gospel music. He enjoyed rabbit hunting and being outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a strong work ethic all of his life.
