Hubert Almond

Hubert Lee Almond, age 82 of 12066 Oscar Road, Locust, passed away on November 10, 2010 at CMC NorthEast in Concord. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland on Thursday from 6 to 8. At other times the family will meet at his home. Funeral service will be at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Locust on Friday at 2 PM. Elder Charles Smith, Elder Newell Helms and Elder Eddie Fowler will officiate. Burial will follow at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Locust. Born in Stanly County on May 19, 1928, he was the son of the late John Birch Almond and the late Annie Mae Allman Almond. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred “Pauline” Furr Almond in 2008; brothers, Buford Almond and Reece Almond; sister, Ruth Honeycutt and a grandson, Nathan Almond. He was a carpenter and a member of Cool Springs Church in Greenville, SC. He attended Ridgecrest High School. He is survived by his son, Gary Almond and wife Mattie of Concord; brother, Leonard Almond of Midland and two grandchildren, Aaron Almond and Ashley Almond of Concord
