Hugh Mac Helms, 80 years of age, of Indian Trail, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at his home in Indian Trail.
Hugh was born December 29, 1935 in Union County to the late Charles Helms and the late Bessie Dennis Helms. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Vickie Simpson.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Friday, September 23, 2016 at Christ Baptist Church, 2018 East Hwy 218, Indian Trail, NC 28079. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Steven Hicks and Rev. Ronnie Helms, will follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at the Charlotte Memorial Gardens, 7632 Hood Road, Charlotte, NC 28215.
Survivors include wife, Margie Myrtle Helms of the home; sons, Larry Mac (Sue) Helms, Sr. of Fairview, and Jerry (Lupe) Helms of Charlotte; daughter, Patricia (Michael) Waters of Fairview, 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
