Hugh Sossoman

Hugh J Sossoman, 83 years of age, of Concord, NC went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Five Oaks Manor in Concord.

Hugh was born July 4, 1933 in Stanly County, NC to the late Arthur Columbus Sossoman, Sr. and the late Carrie Ethel Little Sossoman. He was also preceded in death by his son Danny Hugh Sossoman; brothers Howard, R.B., and A.C., Jr.; sister Evelene; as well as a nephew Larry Sossoman.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Iris Love Sossoman; daughter Sheliah S. Wood and husband Patrick; granddaughter Jennifer Lambert Foster; daughter-in-law Tonya Sechler Sossoman; grandson Hugh Jason Sossoman; granddaughter Charity Griffith Harris and husband Matt; great grandsons Brandon, Mason and Marshall Harris; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

Hugh was an avid hunter and fisherman. His family and his church meant the world to him. Hugh was a kind man who loved to help others. He studied his Bible and lived his life accordingly. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be Monday, 1:00 pm at Immanuel Baptist Church in Concord with a 30 minute state for family and friends starting at 12:30pm, officiated by Rev. Bob Page. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
