Huston Tucker

Huston Roy Tucker (1924-2012) Huston Roy Tucker, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at CMC Northeast. He was born in Stanly County, NC on September 18, 1924 to the late James and Mandy Tucker. Huston is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pauline Gladden Tucker; his son Robert "Bobby" Tucker, granddaughters; Dana Harris and Shannon Tucker of Charlotte, and his daughters; Martha Tucker of Mt. Pleasant, Anna Barbee and husband Larry, of Birmingham Alabama; granddaughter Melissa Furr of Locust, and grandson Brandon Barbee, of Birmingham Alabama, Kathy Helms and husband David of Harrisburg; granddaughter Maria Helms and grandson Dave Helms of Concord; brothers, Jiles and PJ Tucker, and sister, Dolly Russell. He is preceded in death by his daughter Betty Lou Hopkins Yow of Midland, but survived by grandsons Dee Hopkins of Camp Pendleton, CA and Jordan Yow of Concord. Huston is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Huston was a devoted husband and loving father who will be deeply missed. He was gentle and loving, always teaching and patiently instructing his grandchildren about farming; answering their endless questions with a smile. The family will receive friends at Bethel Baptist in Locust from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. on Sunday, April 29, 2012. A celebration of Huston's life will follow at the Church at 4:00. Rev.
