Ida Price

On Thursday afternoon, July 30, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at home, Louise Price woke and took her Savior's hand when He called for her.

Born Ida Louise Johnson in Middletown, Ohio, on August 20, 1926, she was the daughter of Howard L. and Alma Nichols Johnson. She graduated from Middletown High School, Class of 1944, and became legal secretary for Tom Stubbs. On March 16, 1946 she married James B. Price.

In December 1958, she and her husband founded Faith Artificial Limb Company which later became Faith Prosthetic-Orthotic Services, Inc. From 1964 to 2012 Louise worked full time in the company, retiring as CEO at the age of 86.

Louise was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Concord where she taught children's Sunday School, was a circle leader, and treasurer of the Blanche Stewart Sunday School class for 25 years. In 2010, First Presbyterian Women of the Church presented her a life membership.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Price, Sr., a son-in-law, Jack Huddle; an infant sister; a brother, Omer William Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Donald G. Heffron.

Her survivors include; daughters, Pam Tolen (Robert), Concord, Eadie Churchill (Bob), Wilmington DE, Carol Lynn Rorie (Rick), Mint Hill; son, Jim Price, Jr (Gerri) Harrisburg. Grandchildren include, Kim Brouillette, Concord, Jason Huddle (Kristy), Harrrisburg, Natalie Kidd, Philadelphia, PA, Robert Kidd (Dani), Wilmington, DE, Mary-Louise Foss (Mike), Brooklyn, NY, Ben Price (Jacque), Charlotte, and David Price. Great grandchildren; Ashlyn & Kelsey Brouilette, Joshua & Jackson Huddle, Alexandra & Charlotte Kidd, and James O Foss. Great-great grandchild, Celia Brouilette.

Louise is also survived by her sister and brother, Doris Heffron and Howard L. Johnson, Jr. (Marilyn) of Middletown, Ohio.

Extended family members include Carol Parish, Concord, Ron Kidd, Columbus, Ohio, Vivian Rorie, Mint Hill; many nieces, nephews and cousins who all were dear to Louise.

The Price family would like to give special thanks to Warden L. Woodard, III, MD of Levine Cancer Institute CMC-University and his staff and also to the Charlotte area Hospice Services.

A celebration of Louise's life will take place Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, officiated by Reverend Peter Bynum. Interment will be at Rocky River Presbyterian Church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 3, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord and an hour prior to the service Tuesday at the Church.
