Imogene (Baggett) Angers, 91, of Concord, North Carolina and formerly South Windsor and Windsor Locks, Connecticut passed from this world into the life God has prepared for her early Saturday,December 28, 2024.
“Emo” was born February 9, 1933 in rural Erin, Tennessee and in the face of her childhood was an incredible Mom to her five boys in Windsor Locks. Mom loved unconditionally and although the boys tested her as she raised them, she never gave up on them and always spoke highly of them until her passing. Mom did many things as she raised her boys. She volunteered in local concession stands including Little League following Richard all the way to the Regionals. Mom would drive us to all our music lessons. Locally, people still remember her as that spirited five-foot two-inch school bus driver that drove for years. As Grandma Mo, she made it to all the events that grandkids celebrate as they grow. All the grandkids loved her and she was the last living grandparent.
After raising her family, she met her second husband, Donald Angers. He treated her so well. Moving to North Carolina they enjoyed 20 years together. Mom loved life with Don and she was so happy. Mom, always equipped with a joke, would develop new social circles wherever she went. Mom was a friend to all. She was best with a coffee in hand and was always looking for that next exchange. Mom had many close friends that would spend time with her or she would travel to them. Some of her closest friends, Regina Frankin, Judy Ludden, Judy Sauer, Laura Hebert and Heidi Grosclaude were in her circles of visitation.
After Don passed and with Mom becoming more challenged living alone, she returned to Connecticutand eventually found a new home where she could entertain, love and be loved. The Marlborough Health & Rehabilitation Center adored Mom and provided unique care in the final stages of her life and for that, we are grateful.
Mom leaves her four boys, Louis and Lolita Breton of Texas, Michael and Donna Breton of Coventry, Richard and Laura Breton of Enfield and Joel and JoAnne Breton of Windsor Locks all in Connecticut; Jeffrey predeceased Mom sadly a few years ago. Grandma Mo to 14 grandchildren and great grandmother to 15. She had no living siblings but based on research, the Baggett blood runs deep in Erin, Tennessee.
Interment will be in North Carolina next to Don. Graveside service and burial, managed by HartsellFuneral Home, will be January 10, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg. A MemorialService is being planned for family and friends to celebrate her life.
