Imogene Morton

Imogene Poplin Morton, 86, of Oakboro, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.

Mrs. Morton was born August 14, 1932 to the late Claude Alonzo and Emma Howard Poplin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Morton, Jr.; sisters, Virginia Furr and Lucille Crowell; brothers, Claude Poplin, Jr. and James Poplin.

The funeral service will be on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11:00 am, located at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle, officiated by Rev. Jeff Springer. The family will receive friends after the service. A private burial will follow at the Oakboro Cemetery,1397 North Main Street, Oakboro.

Survivors include: son, Richard (Gail) Morton of Oakboro, NC, daughter, Susan (Jay) Brothers of Lufkin, TX, grandson, Ryan Morton Of Columbia, SC; grandson, Gregory Morton of Oakboro, NC; sister, JoAnn Whitley of Oakboro, brother, Jerry Poplin of Charlotte.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
