Ina Ruth Cress, 84 of Concord, NC died early Tuesday morning, July 4, 2017 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC after an extended illness.
Mrs. Cress was born on July 31, 1932 in Concord, NC to the late Daniel Earl and Elva Dollie Ann (Furr) Blackwell. On September 6, 1952 she married her loving husband of 50 years, Robert R. Cress who died on July 26, 2002. She is also preceded in death by her two daughters, Cynthia (Blackwell) Smith and Ruth Ann (Cress) Overcash and her loving granddaughter, Christina (Story) Cox.
Survivors include her 5 loving and devoted grandchildren, Felicia Johnson, Renee Solomon, Robert Story, Valerie Almond and John Overcash all of NC. Also surviving are 11 loving great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cress was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family for many years.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2017 with Rev. Robert Leonard officiating at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery in Concord, NC.
Memorials may be made to the donors choice.
Ina will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends. May God Grant Her Eternal Rest.
