Irene Almond

Irene Almond, 79, of 43314 Danville Road, New London, NC passed away on April 11, 2011 at her home. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 14 from 6-8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. At other times, the family will meet at the home of her daughter, Libby Hudson, 43332 Danville Road, New London, NC 28127. The service will be held and Crossroads Baptist Church, Friday, April 15 at 2 PM. Burial will follow the service at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Mark Medlin will officiate. Mrs. Almond was born in Stanly County on October 4, 1931 to the late General Ray and Lizzie Nash. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Vance Almond; and son, Johnny Wayne Almond. Mrs. Almond is survived by her daughter, Libby Hudson and husband Eddie of New London; grandsons, Eli Hudson and wife Susan, Adam Hudson and wife Lauren; brothers Renus Nash, and Delmer Nash, both of Albemarle; and four great-grandchildren.
