Iris Kennedy

Iris Sue Kennedy, 75, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. Mrs. Kennedy was born May 19, 1938 in Cabarrus County to the late Roy Elmer Redding and Idell Laura Jones Redding. She was a graduate of Hartsell High School and Kings Business College. Iris retired from the former Cabarrus Memorial Hospital as a secretary. The family will receive friends at Kerr Memorial Baptist Church, 25 Hwy 49 South, Concord on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 12 until 2 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm, with Rev. Randy Clipp and Rev. Robert Leonard officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Archie Kennedy of the home; brothers, Coy Redding and James Redding both of Concord; sister Myrtle R. Wills of Belmont. Iris regarded all of her nieces and nephews as her own and was very devoted to them as well as they were to her. Iris and her husband, Archie were strong supporters of the Baptist Sharing House School Supplies and Christmas Toy Drive.
