Isaac Mcgee

Mr. Isaac Benjamin McGee, 87, of 1032 Old Charlotte Road, Concord, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. He was born on February 7, 1923 in Florence, SC to the late Benjamin F. and Bedie M. McGee. He is also preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn M. Hendricks, Pansy M. Dulin, and Adelaide M. Hinson; grandson, Dusty Edwards; and niece, Shirley Dulin. Mr. McGee was a member of Shiloh True Light Church in Mint Hill and retired from Cannon Mills Plant 6 in 1985. He loved gardening and his special dog "Sissy". Isaac loved people, never meeting a stranger. He enjoyed helping them do whatever they needed to have done. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord from 12:30 until 1:30 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Mike McGee officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bernice Morrison McGee, of the home; sons, Kenneth McGee and wife, Pam, of Harrisburg; Robert McGee and wife, Jane, of Concord, and Joel McGee and wife, Teresa, of Concord; grandchildren, Kristie McGee, Ashley Miller, Jessica Thompson, Lisa Holtsclaw, Brian McGee, Aaron Edwards; nieces, Janice Mattox, Johnny Kerns, Jaldena Poore, Carolyn Pigg, and Hilda Bailey; nephews, Franklie Dulin, Ronnie Dulin, Darrell Hendricks, and Ray Hendricks; and 14 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
