Iva Jean Whitley Wilson, 77 years of age, of Norwood, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at her home in Norwood.
Iva Jean was born May 26, 1940 in Stanly County to the late Farlis Garfield Whitley and Bessie Hazel Harwood Barrier.
She was also preceded in death by stepfather, Roy Barrier.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 12:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Mark Little . Burial will follow at the Norview Gardens at 949 Pee Dee Avenue, Norwood.
Survivors include husband of 57 years, Albert Wilson; daughters, Brenda (Larry) Todd and Bonnie (Ray) Irby both of Norwood; grandchildren, Bradley (Jill) Todd, Wesley Todd, Jacob (Summer) Todd, Casey (Justin) Smith; great grandchildren, Dylan, Lilly, Maggie, and Ezra Todd and Jase and Ayden Smith; and special cousin, Carol Herlocker; and her beloved pets, Andi and Princess.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to all the staff at Hospice of Stanly County for their steadfast love and care and to her special friend, Cristy, who was so willing to sit with her.
