Jack Brewer

Jack Thomas Brewer age 78 of 149 West Andrews St. Norwood, NC passed away September 17, 2010 at his home. He was born March 28, 1932 in Norfolk, VA., to the late Charles Thomas Brewer and Jeanette Erenstein Hansen Brewer. He was also preceded in death by his wife Doris Elaine Hartsell Brewer and son, Tony Edward Brewer. Mr. Brewer was retired from Exxon Standard Oil Company, Norfolk, VA. and had served in the US Navy. He was a gentle, kind, and loving family man. He is survived by children, Victoria Lynn Brewer of VA., Steven David Brewer of Goosecreek, SC., step children Sherron Barbee SanMartino, Wilmington, NC.; Richard Michael Harward of Masassas, VA., Francis Marion Alvey of Charlotte, NC; Grandchildren, David Brewer, Jason Solomon, Lauren Solomon, Maria Brewer, Christian Brewer, Misty Dennis, Brandy Barfield and Kasey Allen and 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Fred Brewer of Virginia Beach, VA., Robert Brewer of Virginia Beach, VA. and sister Bessie Jenkins of Norfolk, VA. Visitation will be Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Porter Baptist Church, funeral service will follow at Porter Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Flynn Richardson will officiate. Burial at Porter Hill Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N.
