Jack Burnette

Jack Ralph Burnette, 74, of Webb Road, Stanfield, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010, at his home. Mr. Burnette was born November 6, 1935 in Haywood County, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Ellis and Eula Sharpe Burnette; brother, James Burnette; and sister, Ruth Harkins. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9, and a policeman for the City of Charlotte. A memorial service will be held Friday, 2:00 p.m., at Gleaning Mission Church, Oakboro, officiated by Rev. Steve Barbee. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Kay Smith Burnette of the home; sons, Rusty Burnette, Rick Burnette, and Rodney Burnette; daughter, Rhonda Hicks; stepson, John Allen; stepdaughter, Lakisha Hopkins; brothers Jim, Guy, and Ned Burnette; sister, Carrie Frizzell; and seven grandchildren.
