Jack N. Roden, 93, of Harrisburg, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Tucker Hospice House.
Jack was born February 16, 1929, in Birmingham, AL, to the late Joe Roden, Sr. and the late Docia Leah Baird Roden. He was also preceded in death by first wife, Gloria "Sis" Roden; second wife, Ella Levenia Roden; brother, Joe Roden, Jr.; and infant daughter, Janet Roden.
Jack was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a graduate of Auburn University. Jack was a retired engineer from IBM in Charlotte. He was a City Councilman of Harrisburg and a member of the Lions Club in Harrisburg. Jack had a strong faith and served as a deacon at First Assembly and Harrisburg Covenant Church. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed gardening. He was also a tinkerer and loved working on small engines. Jack also loved being outdoors and going out to eat. Most of all, he dearly loved his family. Jack will be forever loved and dearly missed.
Survivors include daughter, Jan Evans of Shelby, AL; daughter, Jeannie Bailey of Calabash, NC; daughter, Debra Fullam of China Grove, NC; son, Randy Stegall of Midland, NC; son, Kevin Stegall of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Rachel, Brad, Courtney, Ashley (Cody), Matt, and Meagan; great-grandchildren, Kristen (Joseph), Dalton (Mikayla), Kaleb, Braden, Caden, and Maggie Grace; and great-great-grandchildren, Emmalyn, River, Sawyer, and Jack.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm, Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Perry Hines. (The funeral service will be webcast: https://video.ibm.com/channel/hartsell-funeral-home-concord ) Burial with military honors will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
