Jackson "Jacky" Burdette Clontz, 63, of Indian Trail, NC died after an extended illness early Sunday morning, December 17, 2017 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC with his family by his side.

Mr. Clontz was born Monday, March 29, 1954 in Monroe, NC to James "Paschal" Clontz, Sr. and Florence "Lucille" (Crowell) Clontz.

He leaves behind to treasure his memory, his loving mother Lucille Clontz of Monroe and his devoted brother Joel B. (Sherry) Clontz of Indian Trail, NC. He is also survived by his five nieces, Michelle "Shelley" D. Clontz of Charlotte, Jennifer C. (Drew) Privette of Boone, Emily J. Clontz of Monroe, Kelly M. Rushing also of Monroe and Claire P. (Max) McClamrock of Charlotte, NC; and one nephew, Shannon R. (Nichole) Rushing of Waxhaw, NC. He is preceded in death by his beloved father, James Paschal Clontz, Sr. and his brother, James "Jimmy" Paschal Clontz, Jr. who died in December of 1977.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland Chapel with Rev. Brian C. Austin officiating. The family will receive guests 1 hour prior to the service in the funeral home that afternoon. Burial will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Monroe, NC.

Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Clontz to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, 612 Mocksville Avenue Salisbury, NC 28144.

"Jacky" will be forever missed by his loving and devoted family and many close friends. May God grant him eternal rest.
