Jacqueline L'esperance Bourbonniere, 106, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Accordius Health of Concord.
Jackie was born July 9, 1917, at the tail-end of World War I, in New York City to the late Wilford and Marguerite L'esperance. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Calvin B. Wood, Jerry Colvin, and Marcel Bourbonniere; son, Calvin L. Wood; brother, Wilford L'esperance, II; and sister, Frances Bolling.
Jackie retired as a purchasing agent for the city of Delray Beach, FL. She enjoyed traveling, especially to France and Canada. Before her declining health, Jackie would enjoy dancing and needlepoint. She lived a long and healthy life, becoming the oldest resident of Accordius and possibly Concord. So much happened during her lifetime, including The Great Depression, Women's Suffrage, Amelia Earhart crossing the Atlantic, the Wall Street Crash, completion of the Empire State Building, WWII, technological advancements, flight and space exploration.
Survivors include her daughter, Laure Bundy of West Palm Beach, FL; son, Craig Wood of Havelock, NC; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
A graveside service in celebration of Jackie's life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at St. James The Greater Catholic Church Cemetery in Concord.
Memorial donations may be made to your local hospice.
