Jacquelyn “Jackie†Bishop Anthony, 85, formally of Stanfield, passed away April 12, 2010, in Transitional Health Services, Kannapolis, NC. Mrs. Anthony was born December 18, 1924, in Miami-Dade County, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Omar and Sophia Carol Allenfort Bishop; brother, Robert “Bobby†Troy Bishop; daughter-in-law Judy Penninger Anthony; and her beloved four footed furry friend, Brandy. Visitation will be Wednesday, 7:00 – 9:00, Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be Thursday, 11:00, in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Midland. Burial will follow in the Oakboro Cemetery. All other times, the family will meet at the home of daughter, Ginny, 8425 A Smith Road, Stanfield. Survivors include son James Steven “Steve†Anthony and wife, Norma of Concord; daughter, Virginia “Ginny†Lee Churchill of Stanfield; granddaughter, Lisa Beatty Hinson and husband, Rocky; great grandsons Clinton Hinson and wife, Jessica, Chase Hinson and Ryan Hinson all of Oakboro. After high school, Jackie moved to Comer, GA, married and started raising a family. She moved to Mt. Pleasant, NC, in 1958, and went to work at Moose Drug Store. Later she worked at Penn Carol Hosiery in Mt. Pleasant. She moved to Stanfield in 1968 and worked at Allison Sewing Plant until she retired. Mrs. Anthony battled Alzheimer Disease for the last 20 years and resided at Transitional Health Care, Kannapolis, for the past 15 years. Jackie loved a simple life and lived it to the fullest. She loved going to the beach and was happiest sitting on a creek bank with a cane pole. She was always a big kid at heart. She will be missed deeply by her family and friends.
