Jahaliah Herrin Cook, 76, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The graveside service will follow at 11 am at Canton Baptist Church Cemetery, Albemarle. Rev. Mark Mabry will officiate. Born July 4, 1935 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Edith Herrin. She was also preceded in death by her husband Horace Cook and a brother, Donnie Herrin of Albemarle. She is survived by her son, Kip Cook and wife Stephanie of Albemarle; four grandchildren, Cameron, Kylie, Kinsey and Christian; and a brother, Conrad Herrin and wife Shelley of Albemarle. The family wishes to express special thanks to all the nurses and staff at Stanly Manor who took great care of her and have been her family for the past year.
