James F. "Fred" Aycoth, 78 years of age, of Midland, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at Carolinas Healthcare Hospice in Monroe.
Fred was born September 10, 1938 in Unionville, North Carolina to the late Conley Curtis Aycoth and the Hazel Hayes Aycoth.
He was also preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Moss and Irene Harmon, brother, Robert Aycoth.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. A graveside service will be held on Thursday August 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Oakboro Cemetery at 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro, officated by Rev. Jerry Greene
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Shelby Brooks Aycoth, daughter, Cynthia A. Drye and husband Tony of Oakboro, NC, son, James E. Aycoth and wife Angie of Stanfield, NC, grandson, Phillip Drye and wife Tracey of Midland, granddaughter, Shannon Aycoth Williams and husband Casey of Stanfield, two sisters, Martha (Jean) Helton and husband Harold of Monroe, NC, Kay Jordan and husband David of Wingate, brother, Neil Aycoth of Monroe, NC, two great grandchildren , Julia Drye and Jackson Drye.
Fred graduated from Unionville High School in 1956. He retired as a machinist with over 50 years of service from Duff-Norton in Charlotte and he also worked at Carnes-Miller Gear Co. Inc in Locust.
