James Franklin Bogle, 89 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at his home.
Jim was born November 30, 1926 in Stanly County to the late Wilbern Eret Bogle and the late Pearl Inez Hines Bogle. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jo Kiser Bogle, who passed away in 2003; son, James Robert "Bob" Bogle; brother, Joe Billy Bogle; and sisters, Gladys Frick, and Norma Barrett.
The graveside service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Stanly Gardens of Memory, officiated by Sgt. Matthew Stein. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy and by the Stanly County DAV, Chapter 12.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Bogle of Indian Trail; brother, Max Bogle of Albemarle; and sister, Betty Sue Stamm of Wyoming.
Jim honorably served his country in the United States Navy on LST 715 in Okinawa, Iwo Jima, and Occupation of Japan during WWII. He was later a teacher at Albemarle Junior High School. He previously served as a Boy Scout Commissioner and was a proud member of the Stanly County DAV . Jim also sang in the choir at First Street United Methodist Church, where he was a member.
